More friends pictures. These are of Jacie and Violet, Oliver, and Ivy, her good friends. Violet is teaching Jacie the pecking order, and it’s quite amusing. For the most part, they play pretty well together. 
It looks like Jacie needs to learn to "play along". While the big kids watch a movie, Jacie does her own thing.
Not sure why, but Jacie has decided she likes to sleep on her belly. But it’s not a true on the belly sleep. Her knees are tucked up, and an arm is underneath her. She is happiest if her face is in the mattress, or in the bumper pad. That worries me, so I usually adjust her once she is asleep. I have to admit she sleeps best when hse sleeps like this. I wonder…is it because of a lack of oxygen?? Also, she was crying in bed the other night and it was pretty consistent, so I went to check on her. The bumper pad was over her head and choking her a little bit because it was right over her throat. The more she fought it, the tighter it got. I took the bumper pad out at that very minute. No more bumper pads in our house! And how in the world can that be comfortable?!
Yep, she is actually sleeping in this shot. What in the world? Sometimes I don't get that kid.
This little shot is of the no-nap monster child I sometimes have. I will leave her in her room for quite some time hoping she will take a nap only to go back in there to see that the crib and changing station are completely rearranged with everything on the floor. Crazy Kid.
Jacie sure had me wondering about her the other day. She was crawling around in her Onesie, and wanted her little pink Crocs on, too. That’s all she wanted to wear: shoes and underwear. She crawled around, walked around, and was quite pleased with herself. I hope this isn’t the beginning of something strange…
These shots are so old that they are almost too old to post. However, they were taken in the beginning stages of her learning to walk. I bought her this Little Peoples Bus, and she thinks it’s the greatest toy ever! We take it outside and she pushes it up and down the sidewalk. Sometimes she will stop and pick up a treasure; something like a dried leaf, stick, or a dried up crab apple from last season and put them under the seat. She could be outside walking for hours. She is getting to be a lot more independent with her walking. Now she will stand up from the middle of the room and take off, and last night, turned around mid step to walk the other way. Its great to see her on the move in a new way, but I wonder what kind of trouble she will now be getting into. She has mastered going up the stairs, but manages to get down them by falling, so we still need to work on that. She used to go down really well, but something changed and she started turning around mid-decline and would end up rolling the rest of the way down. Now she wants to walk down them like Ryan and I. Her little legs are just a tad bit too short!

OK, so I already posted the real Easter dress. But before I found that most adorable one at such a great price, I bought her this little number at Wal-Mart. I decided to put it on her a couple weeks ago. Keep in mind that this child of mine loves baby dolls and princesses. This being said, she doesn’t want to look like a Princess herself. She hates fluffy dresses! I love the dress though, and think its quite adorable. She doesn’t mind them so much when she walks, but hates to crawl in them.
Look at those shoes! I have been looking at them at Wal-Mart for over a year, and I picked them up again one day just to look at them and Jacie grabbed them and wouldn't let go. I think they are her favorite pair.

Jacie is really loving the tub (still). I bought her some fun foam letters and numbers and showed her how they stick to the side of the tub. She loves to stick them on then knock them off. This particular day, I was washingher hair and make this Mohawk. It was so funny, I had to grab the camera. Her hair is getting so long! She has little curls at the ends of it in the back, too.
This child of mine LOVES the outdoors. She will stand at the window for long periods of time watching the birds, chipmunks and stray cat that reside in our back yard. When I finally do let her out, she is so happy. When I decide its time to go back in, she gets so mad. This summer will be a blast being outside.
She also loves the park. Swings? The higher they go, the more she likes it. She giggles and giggles. She likes the slide, too. What am I saying, she loves the dirt! However, she really doesn’t like the grass at all. She will sit there with her legs up, kind of like the V you do in Pilates. She whines until you pick her up. We will have to work on that.
Here she is on the way home from the park-zonked out. It was a really fun day, and the first of many park trips since!
We took the chance on another day right during the end of the semester to go to the park with our friends Jaymie (the Mom, and not pictured), Oliver (the boy) and Violet (the girl). They met us at our house and we walked to the park closest to us. It’s a small park, but just right for these kids. There is a sand box with toys in it, a slide, swings, and a merry go round thing that you stand on and hope that an adult is nice enough to push you. We had yummy Lunchable snacks, and juice. The kids had a great time, and it was a much needed break for me during the final crunch for school.
Finally, after Graduation, Jacie and I made it to Idaho. The first week we were sick, but the second week we were getting better, and we had a wonderful time visiting the park almost every day! She really loved the play equipment, but for some reason, this kid loves dirt!
Jacie is showing her sense of humor. Well, at least the beginnings of one. She loves to do things to make us laugh. For instance, I sit at the kitchen table quite a lot writing papers (not any more, though!). She will come up behind me and poke me through the back of the chair, or tap me on the side and laugh. For some reason, she loves to look at me through the poles on the chair. She thinks its so funny.
Not the best picture, but the only one we have of the event. Last Wednesday, I was inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. I'm a great singer, just ask Ryan. I play the guitar, the piano, and the drums all at one time. Really, I am great at it. No, not really (not even close is more like it), but I was inducted a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the national honors society for English majors. They gave me my honors cords at the same time. When I first went up to get my certificate, I left Jacie with Ryan. She cried until I got up there, making the whole room erupt in giggles. She was the only baby there. So...it was super loud! When I next went up to get my cords, I just carried her with me. They were really sweet about it. They called my name, and then as I walked up with Jacie, they said, "And Jacie". They even wrapped the cords around both of us. It was hard for me to not cry. But then again, I cry at everything.
Jacie enjoyed her second easter much more than her first. last easter, Aunt Janet was here with us, and we loved it, but she could have cared less about her easter basket. This year, she enjoyed the basket...and the eggs.
I have no idea why she felt she needed to stretch out to get to her easter treats, but she did. The night before, I was doing some retail therapy, and I found this easter basket for $5. It was the last one. I showed it to Jacie to see if she would like it. Of course, she liked it. In fact, I think she loved it. I was just going to use her Peeps basket from last year, but couldn't resist this one. She will use it for years to come.
Of course, the chocolate bunny. This chocolate bunny is green, though.
Her eggs have a picture of Elmo on them, and I filled half with Goldfish crackers and half with Hershey's Kisses (which I ate).
Why is it that she needs to dump everything onto the floor?
Jacie did it! She turned 1! And she will still be rear facing until she is 5! She has yet to reach the 20 pound requirement to turn her around, and the pediatrician suggested keeping her rear facing for as long as possible to protect the head and neck. Ugh! It would be so much easier to have her facing forward, but I gotta keep that sweet head safe. She had her 1 year check up today and is 19 pounds (20th percentile), 29 1/4 inches (55th percentile), and her head is in the 70th percentile. What does this mean? It means that she has a big head and no butt! She is a great, healthy, happy, though shot-stricken little peanut. I think she might have a nut allergy (swear words). I gave her a bite of my cereal without thinking yesterday, and it had almonds in it. She broke out in a rash on her torso. I wonder if that is what its from. Speaking of a bite of cereal, my daughter is a scrounge. So, if any of you come to visit, and you feel little hands on your leg while you are eating, its because she wants what you have, no matter if she just ate an entire bowl of mac and cheese, or 2 pounds of oatmeal. If you have food, she must have some of it, too. You know how when you are an adult, and you hear "it will go straight to my thighs"? Well, with Jace, we know it will just go straight to her cheeks--not the butt cheeks, but the face cheeks. Chubby cheeks, and thats about all that is chubby on her.
